During her years of modeling, singing and acting, no one took a picture of Melinda Norris without her close scrutiny and study of what the photographer/artist was trying to accomplish. A yearning for being on the other side of the camera was a natural evolution.

Knowing what is necessary on both sides of the camera has quickly led to her over-night business success. "Photography," she says, "is a communication skill. The photograph should have something to say. Extracting the message and artistic expression of a photo should not be something to struggle for . . . it should jump out to the viewer."

Seeing the best side of someone has always been a social aspect of Melinda's personality. "It is essential to capture the best side of others in photography in the very first as well as subsequent meetings. For the fun of it, I have photographed model friends I have known for years," she shared. "When they began using my photographs over other professional work, I was tremendously encouraged."

A model and actress, Donna Edmondson, now a prolific wedding photographer shared, "Melinda has a unique, innate eye that makes her photographs speak to you. She was definitely born a professional. She has an eye for the composition of a frame that cannot be taught."

Melinda didn't need to "take it up" . . . she found herself in it before she knew it. She has continued to develop her communication skills through her success in photography. Just from word of mouth, she found herself in high demand in her own full-time business and is loving every minute of it.

Melinda shared, "The best feeling in the world is showing each and every one of my clients that they can be a model. I make them feel comfortable so I am able to capture who they are and make them look their very best. Many times they are not aware of what's happening! Taking pride in my work, I'm never satisfied until I capture thoughts and personal expressions that seem to be in multi-dimension and in motion. This is my specialty."
